A great collaboration between “fathers” Waters and Spann and “sons”. This session is a must for any MB or just blues fans. In the music magazine Hit Parader from December 1969 is an on-site report quoting Marshall Chess: “The best blues cut in ten years.” Even Nick Gravenites is quoted “It’s good to hear the blues again.”, and he appeared at the live show on the 24th, closing after Fathers and Sons, with members of Quicksilver Messenger Service (John Cipollina, David Freiberg and Greg Elmore) as well as being emcee. The all girl group Ace of Cups opened the show
